While interning for the Will Steger Foundation (WSF) this summer, I worked on some of the initial development and logistics for The Longest Summer Tour. One of the main goals of the tour was for WSF to reach a broader youth network throughout the Great Lakes region, so I worked to secure venues at a variety of schools and communities throughout the area. The issue of climate change requires people to work together and reach across borders and boundaries to engage in successful solutions. The tour will help to achieve just this since the WSF will educate, inspire and empower these Great Lakes communities to work towards greatly needed climate change solutions.
